Anemia Profile

Anemia develops when the blood has a deficiency of hemoglobin and healthy red blood cells. Hemoglobin is a component of your blood which binds to oxygen. When hemoglobin or red blood cells decrease, the cells of your body does not receive oxygen. Anemia test can diagnose and detect a number of blood disorders that they can be treated in a timely manner.

There are over 400 types of anemia, which are classified in the three categories:

  • Anemia caused by blood loss
  • Anemia caused by damage of red blood cells
  • Anemia caused by faulty or reduced red blood cell production
